Thirteen Madill students spent part of their summer seeing the sights and experiencing the history and culture of Scotland and England. Accompaning them on their journey were Madill staff members Terry Walker, Val Gedcke and adult chaperone Mrs. Sandy Walker.
From eating haggis for breakfast in Scotland and walking the Royal Mile in Edinburgh to being awed by the famous York Minster Cathedral, Oxford University and quoting Shakespeare as we visited Stratford upon Avon the group enjoyed an unforgettable experience. The tour ended with a few days in London to take in Windsor Castle, Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, the Thames, Picadilly Circus and outings to Bath and Stonehenge. Our group joined up with two others from California, (Bakersfield and Sacremento), making it a great and informative holiday. Seeing the play Stomp, eating Cornish pasties, enjoying the English rain, St. Paul's Cathedral a Medieval dinner and much more have left memories too numerous to mention here, but if you see one of our "travellers" as shown above, ask them and I'm sure they will fill you in!
