11:30am - Individual Practice (IP) hour.  Any students seeking help with thier parts are welcome to come out to the music room for Mr. V's help.

Announcements

1. Last week, all band members should have received the Madill Music introductory letter with the attached "Ongoing Permission Form" and contat information to be filled out and returned.  If you have not yet returned this form, or have not yet received it, please make sure to pick it up, fill it out and return it by this week.
2. Keep your eyes on this website, or sign up for email updates on the right.  Rehearsal updates will be posted weekly and the calendar link will also be updated regularly.  Any new performances and important dates will also be noted on the weekly announcements as well.
3. We will be making a new order for high-quality black leather folders for those students interested in purchasing one.  They will have your name and instrument embossed in gold lettering on the front with the school's name.  This is an excellent way to organize your music as well as to have a memento throughout and after your high school music career.  The cost for these folders is $30.  Please let me know if you are interested in ordering one.  I will be making a posting this week with photos of folders that some students already have if you are interested in seeing one.

1. Anyone interested in being part of the Madill Music Council this year, please let me know by the end of the day on Friday this week.
2. 1. First off, I would like to say how excited I am to be starting a fresh new year with so many new great smiling faces and excited students!  I have already met many of our new grade 9 students and It's already looking like it's going to be a fantastic year!

Welcome Back!

 

I hope you all had an enjoyable summer break!  Whether you were working, travelling, or having a 'stay'-cation, I'm very much looking forward to seeing all your smiling faces in the band room once again!  I'm also looking to catch up with you all and find out how your summer went!

 

 

New Musicians' Meeting

On Wednesady, September 7th at 11:35, there will be a brief but important meeting for any grade 9 students and anyone else interested in joining a Madill band.  If you know of anyone who would like to start playing in band this year, please make sure they know about this meeting.

First Rehearsals

There will be no formal rehearsals during the first week of classes (Sept 6-9), but I would like all returning members of the bands to please stop by during the first week to confirm your instrument case number, sign-up for a folder slot, and pick up a few pieces for each ensemble you're in.  This way, we'll be ready to do some reading on the first rehearsal days (Tuesday Sep. 13th for Senior Band, Wednesday Sep. 14th for Jazz Ensemble).  The Intermediate Band will begin rehearsals the following week on Tuesday Sep 20th at 11:45.
