After a brief discussion in a recent lecture with grade 12 students about collaborations between the artist Salvador Dali and film directors such as Alfred Hitchcock, it came to my attention that no one had seen a Hitchcock film!
Mr. Sherwood highly recommends that you watch at least one Hitchcock film in your lifetime! Over March break, fire up Netflix and treat yourself to the best of filmmaking from the mid 1900's. The problem is there are so many films - which do you chose? Not to worry, I will suggest a few.
My all time favourite is North by Northwest a 1959 American thriller starring Cary Grant, Eva Marie Saint and James Mason. North by Northwest is a tale of mistaken identity, with an innocent man pursued across the United States.
If you like this film you might also try The Trouble with Harry a 1955 American black comedy starring Edmund Gwenn, John Forsythe, Shirley Maclaine and Jerry Mathers ; and Rear Window a 1954 American thriller starring James Stewart, Grace Kelly, and Raymond Burr.
